Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Toronto. On arrival in Toronto, make your way from the airport to your downtown accommodation. After checking into your hotel, you can relax or explore Canada's largest city for the rest of the day. There are many museums, shops, galleries and restaurants to browse in the downtown area, or you can take a walk along the harbour front to admire the sunset.
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Toronto. If you're a sports fan, we recommend visiting the Hockey Hall of Fame or the Rogers Centre, home to the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. Alternatively, we recommend taking the 15-minute ferry ride to Toronto Island, where parks offer a peaceful place to walk or cycle, relax on sandy beaches, and admire the city skyline. This evening we have included tickets to the CN Tower to observe the city from above as the sun sets.
Join a full-day, small-group guided trip to Niagara Falls. The journey takes around two hours, passing the Niagara Peninsula wine region. On arrival at Niagara Falls, you have an exhilarating boat trip to give you a closer view, and plenty of time to take in the beauty and power of the cascading water. After an included lunch with a view of the Falls, you'll be driven along the scenic Niagara Parkway to visit the pretty village of Niagara-on-the-Lake with free time to explore and taste the local wines.
This morning, make your own way to Union Station in downtown Toronto, where you board the train to Ottawa. The journey takes around four and a half hours, and you can admire the view as you cut through Ontario's forested interior. A snack and bar service is offered on all of your journeys. We include business class tickets, so you will also receive a light meal. On arrival in Ottawa, spend the rest of the day exploring Canada's capital city.
Spend today exploring the compact city of Ottawa further. We recommend booking a free 20-minute tour of Parliament Hill's government buildings and a visit to the Peace Tower, where a lift can take you up to the top for sweeping views over the city. There are also a variety of museums and galleries to browse, including the Museum of History, which charts 1,000 years of Canadian history through interesting and atmospheric exhibits.
Take a taxi to Ottawa's Tremblay Road Station, where you board the train to Québec. The journey takes around six hours through lush green landscapes. Upon arrival at Québec City's Gare du Palais, take a taxi to your hotel before heading out to take in this historic city's many sights. Enjoy a drink in one of the quaint cafés while soaking up the distinctly European atmosphere, or visit La Citadelle with its old fortified walls.
Join a two-hour guided, small-group walking tour of old Québec. Highlights include strolling along Dufferin Terrace for views over the St Lawrence River, walking through the Governor's Garden to see the Wolfe-Montcalm monument, and learning about the last siege on the city at La Maison du General. After the tour, spend the rest of the day exploring the city through new eyes, spending more time at its historical sites, enjoying a spot of shopping on Rue Petit Champlain, or delighting in delicious local flavours at one of the many restaurants.
Take a taxi to the train station and board the train to Montréal. The journey takes around three and a half hours, and you pass some beautiful scenery, including snow-capped mountains and dense evergreen forest. On arrival at Montréal's Central Station, take a taxi to your hotel. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring this cosmopolitan city, which blends French, British and Canadian cultures. We recommend visiting the Old Port at sunset for dinner in the charming, cobblestone district.
This morning we've included a half-day, small-group cycling tour of Montreal on bright pink reclaimed bikes. Your local guide will take you through the mountain park, entertainment district, the Plateau neighbourhood, and to a vantage point of the waterfront away from the tourist crowds. A picnic lunch with craft beer is included before continuing through the green back alleys and admiring the street art of the city. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring at your own leisure, using the insight and recommendations from your guide.
There may be time this morning for some last-minute shopping and sightseeing before taking a taxi to Québec Airport for your onward flight.
