Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Kathmandu.
Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. You might like to wander into the centre of the city to explore the markets and food stalls — a great spot to try some momos (local dumplings).
Explore Kathmandu and the Kathmandu Valley, visiting several temples, including Swayambhunath, Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath — a sacred Hindu temple. You'll be accompanied by a driver and an experienced guide who can explain each site's history and cultural importance.
Today you will follow the main Kathmandu to Pokhara Highway for most of the way until you reach the roadside bazaar of Dumre, where there is a turnoff to Bandipur, a town that is very quaint and a walk through the village is highly recommended. Later today you will go on a guided walk through the traditional village of Bandipur to get an insight into life as it must have been decades or even centuries ago. Much of this walk is on quiet roads and pedestrianised areas, so traffic is not an issue.
The drive to Pokhara is impressive, with some dramatic scenery. A boat ride on Lake Phewa will be arranged in the late afternoon to enjoy the views of the surrounding hills and mountains. The final part of the boat journey takes you back to the bank in time for the local aarti ceremony, which is conducted with great fanfare as the sun sets. Afterwards, you are in the perfect place to either return to your hotel or visit one of the many local restaurants for dinner.
Today you will be driven to the trek start point from Pokhara, which takes about one hour. You will walk along a ridge via the small village of Birethanti to arrive at Sanctuary Lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will follow the river to start on the slow climb up to Ghandruk and spend the night at a lodge that has the most fantastic views of the beautiful Annapurna mountains.
Today you can rise early to watch the sunrise illuminate the surrounding peaks, before setting off for the descent into the valley. The route will pass through terraced fields and many small villages via Shauli Bazaar and Birethanti Lodge to reach the small village of Tanchock and the welcome sign of Majhgaon Lodge.
After early morning tea on the terrace and watching the sun rising over the enormous peaks of Annapurna South and Annapurna 1, you will start the walk by heading up through the village. The route goes via the trekkers' town of Pothane, where you can stop for a snack. From here, the road levels out and becomes wider, as you head toward Dhampus, where you will get to the lodge in time for lunch. Enjoy some well-deserved rest while enjoying panoramic views of Fishtail Mountain.
After breakfast, you will head downhill on a path that is mostly slate steps through many villages until you reach the road head near Naudanda. Here you will be met and will be transferred back to Pokhara — this will take around an hour. You will be back in time for lunch.
Driving via Dumre and Narayanghat, you will descend into the warmest region of Nepal, the Terai, to spend a few nights in the Chitwan National Park. You might like to enjoy drinks in the hotel bar or stargaze in this area with minimal light pollution.
Today you will have a full day exploring the park. There are plenty of activities, including jungle walks, river safaris and jeep safaris. Hopefully, you will be able to spot some of the one-horned rhinos that reside here
Another full day of activities in Chitwan. Your days can be tailored to your interests; if you're keen on birdwatching, you might enjoy a river safari to see some of the migrating bird species.
This morning, you should have the time to do another activity before returning to Nagarkot, one of the best spots for soaking up panoramic mountain vistas.
Wake up early this morning and enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. Today, you are free to explore nearby local villages or simply enjoy the views from the comfort of your hotel balcony.
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
